The Wonder of You

WHEN disturbing, destructive events invade our collective human consciousness, we have the power as spiritual beings to transmute and heal those negative energies.

If there is news of corruption, greed, suffering — embedding their messages into our psyches — how do we counter their debilitating influences – mental, physical and psychological?

The forces impacting our personal, national and global life, have taught us much about ‘inherent evil.’  But what of ‘inherent good?’

This week, we intended a post about modern cosmology and evolution, in the light of Theosophy.

We choose, instead to focus on optimism and light, against the numbing pessimism of materialism.Listen as Deepak Chopra delivers just such a message — all in one minute:

This sounds like Theosophy, pure and simple. “Man is the microcosm of the macrocosm,” writes H. P. Blavatsky in the occult primer Transactions.

“The god on earth,” she assures us, “is built on the pattern of the god in nature.”

Universal Consciousness

Recognizing the ugly paradoxes of human life we see daily around us, shall we despair? Theosophy has always taught a transcendent view of humanity, and holds ever to the divine optimism, described by Blavatsky as:

“… the universal consciousness of the real Ego transcends a millionfold the self-consciousness of the personal or false Ego.”

World  Matrix

The following excerpt from her first work Isis Unveiled1:212, has an inspiring message:

“Man is a little world — a microcosm inside the great universe…”

“Like a foetus, he is suspended, by all his three spirits, in the matrix of the macrocosmos — and while his terrestrial body is in constant sympathy with its parent earth, his astral soul lives in unison with the sidereal anima mundi.

“He is in it, as it is in him, for the world-pervading element fills all space, and is space itself, only shoreless and infinite.

“As to his third spirit, the divine, what is it but an infinitesimal ray, one of the countless radiations proceeding directly from the Highest Cause — the Spiritual Light of the World?”

Equally uplifting is Ervin Laszlo’s teleseminar on “Worldshift: Evolution Or Extinction-Your Way To Evolution.”

The interview was recently posted on the website of The Institute of Noetic Sciences:

The Synopsis:

“Author Ervin Laszlo, PhD, discusses his theories of evolution and the tipping point which determines whether we head toward mass extinction or a sustainable world.

Ervin emphasizes the importance of recognizing our connection to each other. He quotes William James,

‘We are like islands in the sea, separate on the surface, but connected in the deep.’

“Ervin refers to that which connects us all as a constant exchange of information. Some call it intuition, inspiration or creativity, and he believes that we need to stop dismissing information that is not coming from our physical senses.

Ervin’s perspective is that the information that underlies all things is consciousness and the recognition of our connection to each other and our environment is vital for our collective future.

Finally, he discusses his two upcoming books, including: ‘WorldShift 2012’ and his most recent book:

Science and the Akashic Field

One response to “The Wonder of You

  1. I was just thinking thoughts along the same lines – that both capitalism and communism assumed the inherent baseness of human nature; that so-called ‘competition’ could be the foundation stone of a capitalistic economy, and that ‘re-education’ would be the basis of a harmonious, socialist paradise. Religion, too, posits an original sin or falling off.

but why not recognise the ‘inherent good’ as you say? What sort of joy then?
