ASTROLOGY is unscientific superstition most modern scientists believe. Yet, true philosophy seeks “rather to solve than to deny” says Theosophy.
“It is an axiom of the philosophic student,” Blavatsky affirmed, “that truth generally lies between the extremes.” This is what the ancients meant by Astrology she insisted.
“Mention the word ‘astrology’ and skeptics go into an epileptic fit,” natural health researcher Mike Adams says.
“The idea that someone’s personality could be imprinted at birth according to the position of the sun, moon and planets,” Adams notes, “has long been derided as ‘quackery’ by the so-called ‘scientific’ community which resists any notion based on holistic connections between individuals and the cosmos.
“According to the conventional view, your genes and your parenting determine your personality, and the position of planet Earth at the time of your birth has nothing to do with it.”
As H. P. Blavatsky in The Secret Doctrine 1:272, put it:
modern science believes not in the ‘soul of things,’ and hence will reject the whole system of ancient cosmogony.
“Then again, conventional scientists don’t believe the position of the moon has anything to do with life on Earth, either,” Adams writes. “They dismiss the wisdom that farmers have known for ages — that planting seeds or transplanting living plants in harmony with the moon cycles results in higher crop yields. Even the seeds inside humans are strongly influenced by the moon, as menstruation cycles and moon cycles are closely synchronized (28 days, roughly).”
And recently, scientific studies showing planetary imprinting called “seasonal biology” have confirmed the underlying principle of astrology. The scientific study shows that planetary positions do, surprisingly, influence our biological clocks. Why not our psychological and mental states as well?
“The ancients always considered the ‘ambient’ – or entire heaven – at birth,” Blavatsky colleague William Q. Judge wrote in Astrological Influences, “as being that which affected man.”
New Age Guru, H. P. Blavatsky, referred often to astrology in her Theosophical writings, as in the following lines from “The Theosophist” in Blavatsky Collected Writings compiled by Boris de Zircoff.
Although a study of the science of astronomy may enable us “to determine what the course of events will be,” she maintained, but adds a but if common sense:
the clock indicates, it does not
influence the time.
Thus, she says, “though the planets may have no hand in changing the destiny of man, still their position may indicate what that destiny is likely to be.”
And a distant traveler has often to put right his clock, so that it may indicate correctly the time of the place he visits.
We’re All Connected
A musical video created using a scientific quartet comprised of Carl Sagan, Richard Feynman, Neil deGrasse Tyson, and Bill Nye. The Symphony of Science project “owes its existence to the production of the classic PBS Series Cosmos.”
Now a scientific group is promoting the reality of an electric universe, a fundamental of The Secret Doctrine. “Sit down before facts like a child, and be prepared to give up every preconceived notion,” wrote T. H. Huxley in the 19th Century, “follow humbly wherever and to whatever abysses Nature leads, or you shall learn nothing.”
Agreeably with H. P. Blavatsky, in 1919 the genius Nikola Tesla wrote “If we could produce electric effects of the required quality, this whole planet and the conditions of existence on it could be transformed.”
“Today, nothing is more important to the future and credibility of science than liberation from the gravity-driven universe of prior theory,” claim modern cosmologists David Talbott and Wallace Thornhill. Also agreeably with Blavatsky these two modern occults maintain:
A mistaken supposition has not only prevented intelligent and sincere investigators from seeing what would otherwise be obvious, it has bred indifference to possibilities that could have inspired the sciences for decades.
“Yes, ‘our destiny is written in the stars!’, Blavatsky wrote. “Only, the closer the union between the mortal reflection MAN and his celestial PROTOTYPE:
“…the less dangerous the external conditions and subsequent reincarnations – which neither Buddhas nor Christs can escape.”
“It is a well-known principle of Occultism that the ONE LIFE which pervades ALL,” she says, “connects all the bodies in space.”
All heavenly bodies have thus mutual relation, which is blended with man’s existence, since he is but a microcosm in the macrocosm.
As understood by the Occultist, destiny “is merely the chain of causation,” Blavatsky says, “producing its correspondential series of effects.”
“One who has carefully followed the teachings of Occultism, concerning future re-births, knows that every individual is his own creator or his own father.”
“Our physical and spiritual conditions are the effects of our actions produced on those two planes in previous existences.”
“Every thought, as much as action, is dynamic and is impressed in the imperishable Book of Nature—the Akasa,” Blavatsky writes, “the objective aspect of the UNMANIFESTED LIFE.”
“All our thoughts and actions thus produce the vibrations in space, which mould our future career”
Past Life Key
“And astrology is a science, which having determined the nature of the laws that govern these vibrations,” she says, “is able to state precisely a particular or a series of results, the causes of which have already been produced by the individual in his previous life.”
“Since the present incarnation is the child of the previous one, and since there is but that ONE LIFE which holds together all the planets of the Solar system,” she continues, “the position of those planets at the time of the birth of an individual — (the aggregate result of the causes already produced) — gives to the true Astrologer the data upon which to base his predictions.”
“It should be well remembered that, just as the astronomer who catalogues the stars cannot add one atom to the universe — no astrologer, no more than the planet, can influence the human destiny.”
“True Astrology is a mathematical science, which teaches us what particular causes will produce what particular combinations,” Blavatsky wrote, “and thus gives us the means of obtaining the knowledge how to guide our future births.”
“True, such astrologers there are but few: but are we justified in condemning the science of electricity because there may be very few real electricians?
“We must not lose sight of the fact that although there are numberless combinations that must be determined by the psychic vision of the astrologer.”
“It is these cases which baffle us when we find that some astrological calculations prove correct while others are quite beside the mark.”
The True Sun
The theosophical Adepts teach that the visible Sun is a reflection, the glowing shell of the real Sun within. The real Sun was considered to be
…a center of universal life or electricity — the physical Sun being the mirror, focus and reservoir of the Divine Radiance.
This Divine Radiance or Universal Life manifests on the physical plane as atomic energy. The visible Sun is a bundle of electromagnetic forces. The elements on Earth, known and unknown, are found in its ‘outer robes,’ or chromosphere, The Secret Doctrine teaches.
The sunspots observed in every eleven year cycle, are held by Theosophy to be due to the contraction of the “solar heart“ which throws out life energy into the solar system.
“It is an absurdity to say that the solar fires are being consumed and gradually extinguished,” Blavatsky writes:
“The Sun has but one distinct function — it gives the impulse of life to all that breathes and lives under its light. The sun is the throbbing heart of the system, each throb being an impulse.
“But this heart is invisible: no astronomer will ever see that which is concealed in this heart.”
“That which we feel and see, its apparent flame and fires, are the nerves governing the muscles of the solar system — and nerves, moreover, outside of the body. This impulse is not mechanical but a purely spiritual, nervous impulse.”
Nasa has released the first pictures of the sun, reports The Telegraph, UK, taken from its new Solar Dynamics Observatory:
Eye on the Sun
“These initial images show a dynamic sun that I had never seen in more than 40 years of solar research,” said Richard Fisher, director of the Heliophysics Division at NASA Headquarters in Washington.
This ultraviolet image of the sun was taken on March 20,2010 by NASA’s recently launched Solar Dynamics Observatory or SDO, NASA’s New Eye on the Sun.
“SDO will change our understanding of the sun and its processes, which affect our lives and society,” and, says Fisher:
“This mission will have a huge impact on science, similar to the impact of the Hubble Space Telescope on modern astrophysics.”
Someday, perhaps, science will begin to credit The Secret Doctrine and the old Adepts for their profound knowledge of the true science of the occult universe, and as it is intertwined with both nature and of man.

“Shamelessly liberally biased astroblogger, who was bred on the concept that there’s a difference between perceiving the world from a Western linear perspective, as opposed to a cyclic world view. And that analogy and correspondence is based on the premise that there is an underlying Unity that weaves the threads of the Cosmos, life, breath, energy, with and through the tapestry of our lives.”
“Our future personality will be the result of our present mode of living. In the same manner our present birth, with all its conditions is the tree grown out of the germ sown in our past incarnations.
