Mother’s Love, a Shoreless Universal Essence

Mother and Child

WHENEVER there is separateness and selfishness, Theosophy teaches, there will always be suffering.

This is why we need to continually try to practice Divine Compassion, “the law of laws,” as urged in The Voice of the Silence, and all that implies about our daily actions.

“Compassion is no attribute, it is the LAW of LAWS — eternal Harmony —

“… a shoreless universal essence, the light of everlasting Right, and fitness of all things — the law of love eternal.”

(The Voice of the Silence)

A feeling of true, universal compassion and caring for others can never dissolve into either separateness or selfish pride. Says the Voice of the Silence of The Buddha: “The esoteric school teaches that Gautama Buddha with several of his Arhats is such a Nirmânakâya, higher than whom, on account of the great renunciation and sacrifice to mankind there is none known.”

According to the H.H. the 14th Dalai Lama, Tenzin Gyatso, “compassion is something really worthwhile.”

It is not just a religious or spiritual subject, not a matter of ideology. It is not a luxury. It is a necessity.

Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them.

Mother Nature

There is a perfect analogy “between the processes of Nature, in the Kosmos, and in the individual,” Mme. Blavatsky wrote. (The Secret Doctrine 1:173.)  And that “analogy is the surest guide to the comprehension of the Occult teachings.”

For example, we are protected by a natural healing force in our bodies, the ever watchful immune system — proof surely of the natural wired-in ‘mother protective effect.’ There must be hundreds of examples of this built-in restorative stabilizing force at work.

Cuts and scrapes are healed, harmful microbes are stopped in their tracks, and every day worn out parts all over the body are repaired with fresh new cells.  Nature knows how to care for her children, if only we obey her few basic rules, and don’t derail Her natural order. Trees, it is proved, warn each other of danger, and nourish one another sharing nutrients through their roots.

All One Being

The opening Proposition of The Secret Doctrine establishes this critically important Theosophical idea of universal unity: the “fundamental One Existence, or Absolute Being, must be the REALITY in every form there is.”

“Existence is ONE THING, not any collection of things linked together. Fundamentally there is ONE BEING.”

Sickness occurs when “a group of individual cells refuse to cooperate, and wherein is set up discordant action, using less or claiming more than their due share of food or energy,” wrote W. Q. Judge in The Synthesis of Occult Science, concluding:

“Disease is nothing more or less than
‘the sin of separateness.’”

The Power of Presence

In her groundbreaking masterpiece, The Field, investigative journalist Lynne McTaggart presents a compelling and stunning argument for unity. “It’s a concept that eliminates one of the biggest problems we have in the world,” she says, “which stems from the erroneous idea that we’re all separate.”

Karmic Agents

“Each man is a Karmic agent … in our daily actions, even the smallest, whether we are conscious or not of the effect, we are such agents,” according to W. Q. Judge, (Article: Men Karmic Agents):

“A single word of ours may have an influence for a lifetime upon another. Or we may be the means of another’s being late for an appointment and thus save him from calamity or the reverse, and so on infinitely.”

But in these hectic and distracting times find many are straying from nature’s tried and true ways. With increasing financial, social and psychological pressures on parents, children’s otherwise natural lives can have many rocky patches. There is hope if some parents will heed at least the simple warnings.

Happy Mother and Baby

We are forewarned and offered a simple solution that, if followed consistently, might prevent the unfortunate effects a missing or neglectful parent has on her children. A ground-breaking concept by Clancy D. McKenzie, M.D describes the effects of parental separation at key developmental stages and healing protocols.

The effect of heedlessness to a fundamental law of life is certain: a separation anxiety in children, a troubling state responsible for a variety of mental, emotional, even physical disorders.

Dr. McKenzie provides a formula for identifying the unintended, disabling psychological and emotional consequences that can appear over the life of the child, notably when triggered by a related event, conscious or unconscious. We may ourselves, as adults begin recognize upsetting episodes related to Dr. McKenzie’s genius discovery.

Clancy D. McKenzie, M.D

“We have identified a totally different cause and treatment protocol for serious mental and emotional disorders. Over the course of 45 years we have learned to recognize unsuspected infant separation traumas that account for the later development of serious disorders. We use one particular trauma for which the precise date is known and recorded. That trauma is the birth of a sibling. . . . More overwhelming than war trauma to a soldier, is separation from mother to a baby because, as long as mammals populated the earth, separation from mother has meant death.”

Healing Dreams

Dr. McKenzie’s presentation, “Babies Need Mothers”, was given at the 2011 Annual International Theosophical Conference. Many of Dr. McKenzie’s most powerful insights were actually directed to him during his dreams, and experienced later as voices on awakening, and during the day at unexpected moments.

Is it because we forget that nature and humanity are really One Being, that we lose our way?

The solution hit him like a bolt of lightening he says, and without so much as a hand-held calculator, McKenzie “unearthed the origin and mechanism of serious mental and emotional disorders.”

“You do not have to be a yogi and meditate for years in a cave to receive an enlightened answer,” says Dr. McKenzie.

“When you fall asleep you reach just as deep a level of consciousness.”

“All you must do is take one minute at bedtime to formulate your question, and one minute when you awaken to retrieve the answer. Practically anyone can do this the very first night.”

Mothers_Children_Mental_IllnessDr. McKenzie has not known “anyone to receive a wrong answer or one that is morally corrupt.” He concludes from this that

“the answers are coming from a higher source … “

“The programmed dream might be similar to prayer – but with a refined technique for receiving the answer.”

His proscribed treatment and three levels of prevention quickly followed. After forty plus years of research and studies, the author has made the results and prevention methods available to the general public for the first time.

All One Being

In these often dark times of the soul, its easy to overlook the plight of our fellow humans, assuming someone else will help. Luckily there are many ordinary persons just like us who are determined to live unselfishly and harmlessly, somehow finding time to serve the needy and down-trodden.

Feeding the Hungry

The opening proposition of The Secret Doctrine reminds us of the most important Theosophical idea: the “fundamental One Existence, or Absolute Being, must be the REALITY in every form there is.” Here it is again, the number one most important Theosophical principle:

“Existence is ONE THING, not any collection of things linked together. Fundamentally there is ONE BEING.”

Disease, poverty, hunger and the rise of environmental blights are, it seems, the inevitable result of our separation from the natural, unified state.

What connects us and the whole of nature together? In Occult mythology she is called “The Mother of the Gods,” according to H. P. Blavatsky:

“Deva-Matri — it is from her Cosmic matrix that all the heavenly bodies of our system were born — Sun and Planets.” In Occult Science it is called “one homogeneous divine Substance-Principle, the one radical cause.”

(Secret Doctrine 1:273)

All Connected

The root of ‘Mother‘ is corroborated, writes H. P. Blavatsky, Secret Doctrine 1:91): “by the significant fact that Anna (the name of the Mother of the Virgin Mary), now represented by the Roman Catholic church as having given birth to her daughter in an immaculate way (‘Mary conceived without sin’), is derived from the Chaldean Ana, heaven, or Astral Light, Anima Mundi —

Uma Kanya

“… Anaitia, Devi-durga, the wife of Siva, is also called Annapurna, and Kanya, the Virgin  ‘Uma-Kanya’ being her esoteric name, and meaning the ‘Virgin of light,’ Astral Light in one of its multitudinous aspects.”

This unifying Cause is the Hindu Akasha, also called the “mother substance,” which is the “real substance of the concealed (Sun)” according to a secret commentary [Secret Doctrine 1:290, (xxi.)]:-

“It is the heart and the matrix of all the living and existing Forces in our solar universe.”

Buddha Wisdom

With a change of heart and direction, becoming “one with Nature’s Soul-Thought,” is becoming scarce today with the pressures of unemployment and financial losses. Yes we might receive a lot more TLC from the Great Mother than we do now, if we only followed Her Rules.

Humanity, beginning with its children, must always embrace the morals and values implied by the science of wholeness.

“Become as one with Nature’s Soul-Thought. At one with it thou art invincible — in separation, thou becomest the playground of Samvriti, origin of all the world’s delusions.” (fn: Samvriti, therefore, as only relative truth, is the origin of all illusion”.)

Sleeping Buddha

“When, moved by the law of Evolution, the Lords of Wisdom infused into him [the human form] the spark of consciousness,” H. P. Blavatsky wrote in The Secret Doctrine (1:210):

“the first feeling it awoke to life and activity was a sense of solidarity, of oneness with his spiritual creators. …”

Only the spiritual knowledge possessed by the Sages of the past, can lead us to the healing we need in the present.

Teamwork

One Voice

“Devotion arose out of that feeling, and became the first and foremost motor in his nature; for it is the only one which is natural in our heart, which is innate in us.”

“Before the soul can comprehend and may remember, she must unto the Silent Speaker be united,” says  The Voice of the Silence, “just as the form to which the clay is modeled, is first united with the potter’s mind. For then the soul will hear, and will remember.”

A joyful lesson in exuberant teamwork from the inspired songwriter Barry Manilow, coaching his young pupils:

As We Think

The thought manifests as the word;
The word manifests as the deed;
The deed develops into habit;
And habit hardens into character.
So watch the thought and its ways with care,
And let it spring from love
Born out of concern for all beings.”

~ Buddha – “The Dhammapada

Deva-Matri

“She is very properly called ‘The Mother of the Gods,'” says Blavatsky — “Deva-Matri — it is from her Cosmic matrix that all the heavenly bodies of our system were born — Sun and Planets.”

A Mother’s Love

“Mothers are the most important people in the world,” says singer Amy Sky, “so this year I’d like to share with you ‘A Mothers Love,’ a song from my new CD Alive & Awake. Give it to your mother along with my own personal wish that this Mother’s Day will be the best one she’s ever had.”
