Solar Goddess
WINTER in the northern hemisphere marks the annual return of an ancient solar festival.
Indeed, “turnings of the sun” is an old phrase, used by both Hesiod and Homer.
The novelist Alan Furst has one of his characters nicely observe, “the day the sun is said to pause,” recalls the NY Times Op Ed: “Pleasing, that idea…
… as though the universe stopped for a moment to reflect, took a day off from work. One could sense it, time slowing down.”
“The real substance of the concealed (Sun) is a nucleus of Mother substance,” H. P. Blavatsky writes in The Secret Doctrine. It is the heart and the matrix of all the living and existing Forces in our solar universe.
“It is the Kernel from which proceed to spread on their cyclic journeys all the Powers that set in action the atoms in their functional duties, and the focus within which they again meet in their SEVENTH ESSENCE every eleventh year.”
Dawn of the Sun
I am the dawn, I’m the new day begun
I bring you the morning, I bring you the sun
I hold back the night and I open the skies
I give light to the world, I give sight to your eyes
From the first of all time, until time is undone
Forever and ever and ever and ever
And I am the dawn and the sky and the sun
I am one with the One, and I am the dawn
I am the sky and the dawn and the sun
I am the sky and the new day begun
I am the sky and the dawn and the sun
Electric Universe
“In the nearly ten years since the website Thunderbolts.info has gone online,” the Editors write, “perhaps the most common request we’ve received from readers is to address the innumerable misrepresentations of the Electric Universe hypothesis,” (an ancient occult teaching).
“Newcomers to the theory face an arduous task of sorting through the considerable confusion created by pseudoskeptics. It’s not reasonable to expect proponents of ‘mainstream’ theory to immediately embrace the EU — but it is reasonable to ask that its critics make the effort to learn what the theory actually proposes before loudly denouncing it. Unfortunately, the most vocal opponents of the EU have consistently failed on this front.”
Central Sun-God
“…the Sun is the store-house of Vital Force, which is the Noumenon of Electricity,” Blavatsky asserts, and
…it is from its mysterious, never-to-be-fathomed depths, that issue those life currents which thrill through Space, as through the organisms of every living thing on Earth.
-The Secret Doctrine 1:529 – “Life, Force or Gravity”
H. P. Blvatsky and her Adept Teachers were far ahead of their time in teaching an electric, eschewing astronomer’s gravity-based universe theory:
“Astronomers who see in gravitation an easy-going solution for many things, and an universal force which allows them to calculate thereby planetary motions, care little about the Cause of Attraction. They call Gravity a law, a cause in itself. We call the forces acting under that name effects, and very secondary effects, too. One day it will be found that the scientific hypothesis does not answer after all.”
“If the limited space of the present work would permit,” Blavatsky said, “we might easily show that none of the ancients, the sun-worshippers included, regarded our visible sun otherwise than as an emblem of their metaphysical invisible central sun-god.”
Moreover, they did not believe what our modern science teaches us, namely, that light and heat proceed from our sun.
The Adepts point to a “spiritual, central sun, whose rays are all-pervading and unceasing, the eternal and boundless life-giver.”
A Magnetic Cosmos
“The sun is but one of the myriad magnets disseminated through space,” and “has no more heat in it than the moon or the space-crowding host of sparkling stars.”
There is no gravitation in the Newtonian sense, but only magnetic attraction and repulsion.
“It is by their magnetism that the planets of the solar system have their motions, regulated in their respective orbits by the still more powerful magnetism of the sun, not by their weight or gravitation.”

“This and much more they may learn,” she says …
Until then we must be content with being merely laughed at, instead of being burned alive for impiety, or shut up in an insane asylum.
Modern plasma cosmologists David Talbott and Wallace Thornhill posit an electric noumenon, or Electric Universe (EU), which is, unsurprisingly, still controversial and mostly rejected by mainstream science.
Heart of the Solar System
“The Sun is the heart of the Solar World (System) and its brain is hidden behind the (visible) Sun,” Blavatsky wrote in The Secret Doctrine:
From thence, sensation is radiated into every nerve-centre of the great body, and the waves of the life-essence flow into each artery and vein … the planets are its limbs and pulses.
“Occult philosophy denies that the Sun is a globe in combustion,” she declared, “but defines it simply as a world, a glowing sphere, the real Sun being hidden behind, and the visible being only its reflection, its shell.

Sunspot
“The Nasmyth willow leaves … are the reservoirs of solar vital energy,” she says, “the vital electricity that feeds the whole system …
“The invisible sun is in reality,” Blavatsky notes, “the storehouse of our little Kosmos — self-generating its vital fluid, and ever receiving as much as it gives out.”
and the visible Sun only a window cut into the real Solar palace and presence, which reflects, however, faithfully the interior work.

Cosmic Magnets
“The sun is but one of the myriad magnets disseminated through space,” Blavatsky writes in Isis Unveiled — “a reflector.”
the sun has no more heat in it than the moon or the space-crowding host of sparkling stars.
The True Sun is what Blavatsky calls “The Central Spiritual Sun,” of which our sun is a “lens” or reflection, a focus of energy.”

Modern Sun Worshiper
… none of the ancients, the sun-worshippers included, regarded our visible sun otherwise than as an emblem of their metaphysical invisible central sun-god.
“Moreover, they did not believe what our modern science teaches us, namely, that light and heat proceed from our sun, and that it is this planet which imparts all life to our visible nature.”

Earth’s Magnetosphere
…there is no gravitation in the Newtonian sense, but only magnetic attraction and repulsion.
“… and that it is by their magnetism that the planets of the solar system have their motions regulated in their respective orbits by the still more powerful magnetism of the sun, not by their weight or gravitation.”

The Central Sun
“Theosophy holds that as our solar system orbits the centre of the galaxy, it also revolves around a ‘central sun’ or ‘raja-sun’ (just as the moon orbits the earth while both of them orbit our own sun).
The central sun is located in the constellation Hercules (H.P. Blavatsky: Collected Writings, TPH, 1950, 5:162-3 — Mahatma Letters, 23b.)

Milky Way Galaxy
Astronomers are finally beginning to catch up with Theosophy, and have discovered a powerful magnetic field at the galactic center. Space.com reported:
It has the energy equivalent
of 1,000 supernovae.
More incredible, the Space.com article states Astronomers report an unprecedented elongated double helix nebula near the center of our Milky Way galaxy. We see two intertwining strands wrapped around each other as in a DNA molecule,” said Mark Morris, a UCLA professor of physics and astronomy.
Nobody has ever seen anything like that before in the cosmic realm. … What we see indicates a high degree of order.

Winter Solstice
We celebrate the Winter Solstice, the longest night and shortest day of the year. To many people in the western world this tradition has been released as other traditions have taken its place.
For some the Celtic calendar or Pagan practices are coming to life again with renewed meaning. As we are in exciting times of change and poised for evolutionary shifts in consciousness this winter solstice has more meaning for us than meets the eye.
As with many traditions, religious or spiritual in nature, their original purpose can get lost in repeated actions that are routinely practiced from generation to generation.
When this happens it can create an imbalance because the thread of connection has been lost.
One of the beautiful gifts of the Winter Solstice is the opportunity to pause, to take a breath and go inward. The solstice is the still point where the sun setting on the horizon takes a breath from moving in one direction to move back in the other.

Avebury, inner and outer circles.
They used this time to take stock of the previous year to see what worked and what didn’t, releasing what no longer served them and visualizing dreams for their coming year as they celebrated the turn toward the growing light.
As we review our lives we are reconnected with what matters to us most by our inward journey to the knowing still point within us that is our inner wisdom and higher self. Rekindling the light within as the days grow longer brings us to spring and new beginnings.
We are grateful more than ever to have the opportunity to know ourselves, to create anew and to be in harmony with the natural cycle of our world. It is from this place that we can authentically create a positive course of action having released what no longer works. This is important for us not only personally but globally as well.
May you find your thread of connection to Source!
Happy Solstice.
Gayatri – the Rig-Veda
“Om Bhur Buvaha
SuvahaThath Savithur Varenyam
Bhargo Devasya Dheemahi
Dhiyo Yonaha Prachodayat”
Translation:
“That which giveth sustenance to the Universe and to ourselves, from which all doth proceed, and unto which all must return — That Thou Art. In the golden vase of thine earthly body, may the pure Light of the Spiritual Sun shine forth, that thou may’st know the Truth, and do thy whole duty, on the journey back to the Sacred Seat!”
FROM H. P. BLAVATSKY’S JANUARY 1888 ARTICLE TITLED “1888”:
“And let no one imagine that it is a mere fancy, the attaching of importance to the birth of the year. The earth passes through its definite phases and man with it; and as a day can be coloured so can a year. The astral life of the earth is young and strong between Christmas and Easter [i.e. between Capricorn and Aries]. Those who form their wishes now will have added strength to fulfill them consistently.”
