Girl with Autism Sings “Firework”

EVERY child is a spark of God and Higher Mind. The educational tradition put forward by Theosophy is in line with ancient philosophies and modern theories.

These place the emphasis on joy, serenity of mind, harmony with the laws of nature, and recognize reason and intuition as powers innate and educable in us all.

Creative talent is one of the spiritual powers in human beings, part of the spectrum of consciousness that includes the faculties of understanding, of discrimination, and of direct knowing.

Maximizing these, Mme. Blavatsky wrote in her Key to Theosophy (pp. 270-71), “children should above all be taught self-reliance, love for all men, altruism, mutual charity, and more than anything else, to think and reason for themselves,” 

“We would reduce the purely mechanical work of the memory to an absolute minimum, and devote the time to the development and training of the inner senses, faculties and latent capacities.

“We would endeavour to deal with each child as a unit, and to educate it so as to produce the most harmonious and equal unfoldment of its powers,” she says, “so that its special aptitudes should find their full natural development. We should aim at creating free men and women, free intellectually, free morally, unprejudiced in all respects, and above all things, unselfish.”

Katy Perry and Jodi DiPiazza sang “Firework” at the Beacon Theater in New York on Oct 13, 2012. “Night of Too Many Stars: America Comes Together for Autism Programs” is hosted by Jon Stewart and raises money with NYCA (New York Collaborates for Autism) to support and create autism programs, schools, and services all over the country.

 

A Growing Problem

Programs covering everything from the intensive education kids with autism need at a young age to social training for adults who want to contribute in the workplace. A “Teach the Teachers” program was created that helps train more teachers to work in the public school systems, for the many kids with autism who can’t get into the few quality schools that can help them. 1 in 88 kids are now diagnosed on the Autistic spectrum. Night of Too Many Stars is working to help people who live with autism now.

The herbicide sprayed on most of the world’s genetically engineered crops — and which gets soaked into the food portion — is now linked to autism, and multiple other diseases. Former US Navy staff scientist Dr. Nancy Swanson has a Ph.D. in physics, holds five US patents and has authored more than 30 scientific papers has meticulously collected statistics on glyphosate usage and various diseases and conditions, including autism.
